For many residents of Augsburg, but also for visitors from near and far, it has become a tradition to saunter through our festively decorated Christkindlesmarkt. It is also a pleasure to greet new guests who are not yet familiar with the historical charm of one of the oldest and most beautiful Christmas markets in Germany.

Anyone who breathes in the tempting aroma of roasted almonds and freshly baked gingerbread, and listens to the strains of the unique “angel performance,” can hardly evade the magic of Christmas. Set to the magnificent background of Augsburg’s City Hall, young and old are invited to enjoy the fantastic atmosphere in the center of the city ornately decorated for Christmas, and to refresh themselves with the culinary delights offered here.

Our youngest visitors will be especially delighted this year because, for the second times, they can admire the "Augsburg fairy tale street." Here, a tip to its whereabouts: In the area of the Christkindlesmarkt, approximately nine shop windows display scenes from the Christmas story of Pettersson gets Christmas visit.
