150 various stands will once again display
products this year at the foot
of Augsburg City Hall.

Twenty percent of the 150 booths satisfy
the appetites of visitors.

For hunger or just for
"Gluscht" (whetted appetite),
as the people of Augsburg say,
the market provides plenty to satisfy
its guests’ needs:

"Würstela" (wurst),
"Dampfnudla" (yeast dumpling),
Christmas potatoes,
"Steakwegga" (steak sandwich),
hot roasted chestnuts, crêpes and
"Reiberdatschi"
(potato fritters) are offered.

The thirst which goes along with this
culinary mix can be quenched with
hot mulled wine offered at the booths
on city hall square.

As a counterpart to delicacies
for the appetite, traditional goods are
also well represented at the
Augsburg Christmas market.

The majority of the booths decorated in
beautiful Christmas fashion offer gift items
and Christmas articles.

Children’s eyes brighten when they see
the manger scene and its nativity figures,

the smokermen and nutcrackers in a variety
of styles, and of course, when they see the
many toys displayed from modern designs
to old-fashioned toys made of wood and tin.
